Dreaming of Seeing an Old Friend:

An old friend represents a past relationship that held significance in your life at one time, and may no longer have that same place due to distance or time passing, but they were important in a past season.

Positive: When you see an old friend in a dream it might represent someone you trust that is giving you a key piece of wisdom for your current season. Seeing an old friend could also signify a positive change taking place or a missed opportunity coming around again. Seeing this person could invoke positive feelings of safety, being known, and comfort to you in a difficult season.

“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother,” (Psalm 18:24).

Negative: Sometimes, during growth and development, we outgrow and must move on from certain relationships. Seeing an old friend may represent a negative way of life from your past that is trying to come and keep you tied to the past. It could also be a warning that someone with a similar character is trying to enter into your life and lead you down a bad path.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” (Philippians 3:13).

Wisdom & Solution

The Bible tells us to wisely choose the company we keep! If God is warning you in a dream about a relationship, don’t second guess Him or go by the outward appearances. A person might seem one way, but God will reveal their true heart towards you by giving you wisdom about their character, and whether or not they are good for you to be around. Don’t be afraid to trust God and distance yourself or cut off unstable and negative relationships, because it will save you from unnecessary trouble in the future.

“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart,” (1 Samuel 16:7).
