Letter 3: God of the Hills and Valleys

Women of Purpose,

Many women desire the “mountaintop experiences” in life, but don’t understand God’s purpose for experiencing the valley..

God puts order to all things, and hills and valleys are part of His order. A mountain exists in the high place where it is cold and snow and ice form from the clouds form at the peak. When the ice cap hits the warmer air beneath, it melts, creating waterfalls that release water into the valley below, which provides a source of life that continues to repeat itself.

If there wasn’t order, nothing would grow and nothing would live, and that’s why God made hills and valleys. You don’t see hills or valleys in a desert because there isn’t anything there to produce water or any sustainable habitation for life. However, if you look at hills and valleys, they’re lush, green, and streaming with life. Daughter, that’s how God created you to live.

A Christian need hills and valleys to survive their walk with God. Nobody likes the low times in life… but it’s the valleys that humble, develop, nourish, and make you healthy and strong. God gives exaltation after you humble yourself, and go through the valley. The mountain is where we see and rejoice in what God has done… but the valley is where we learn to lift up our eyes and receive His help … where He accomplishes His refining work in us.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth,” (Psalm 121:1-2)

Daughter of destiny, if you are in a valley today, I encourage and remind you that God is with you and you are not alone! In fact, He orchestrated the valley you are in because He loves you, and He is preparing you for the blessing upon the mountain. Whether you are in a valley or on a hill, remember… God is still God and He is always with you!!”
