Honoring & Celebrating 84 Years of Life
“Please join me in honoring the life of a gracious woman of faith, the wife of the late Bishop G. E. Patterson, Mother Louise D. Patterson.
January 27, 1938 – November 20, 2022
As a young man, it was a great pleasure to serve under Bishop G. E. Patterson. I learned so much from him in those days. He was an outstanding leader and the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). After his death in 2007, Mother Patterson’s leadership as First Lady continued and she oversaw Bountiful Blessings, making sure that her late husband’s messages were heard around the world.
Bishop G. E. Patterson and Mother Louise received me as a son and I value the relationship and conversations I had with them. Mother Patterson encouraged me many times that she knew I had a genuine calling of God upon my life as an apostle and prophet, and she also knew I sincerely loved and honored my bishop, her husband, G. E. Patterson.
Mother Louise passed into her heavenly reward at 84 years old, Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was the matriarch of the COGIC church. She epitomized what it meant to be a God-fearing woman with grace, kindness, love, intelligence, class, and style. She wore many hats as First Lady of Temple of Deliverance (COGIC), and served as a strong model for women that went beyond denominational and cultural boundaries. Evangelist Patterson had a strong message and witness for Christ and compassion and concern for all people.
My heart and prayers are with the entire Patterson family, friends, followers, and the COGIC community. I will forever remember and honor her and G. E. Patterson’s legacy.
