DAY 208:

“Has this world conditioned your tongue to let it rip or has God got the grip on your lips?

‘Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips,’ (Psalm 141:3).

In today’s world, freedom of speech has become a weapon of mass destruction, slandering, gossiping, accusing, and defiling one another with no care or concern of the immediate and long-lasting affects of such deceiving ‘freedom!’

We are in the world, but as Christians we are not of it. Our followings should not be after the ways of the world, but the pattern, examples, and way of Jesus! Think about it… when Jesus was wrongly accused or spoken about, He did not retaliate.. He trusted Jehovah the ONE who judges righteously!!

‘Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously,’ (1 Peter 2:23).

The world promotes strife, division, and confusion through careless words and contentious arguments. We should not mirror that mess. The Bible tells us to address insults, persecution, rejections, accusations, and slander.. with grace – seasoned with salt – having the ability to answer everyone.

‘Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man,’ (Colossians 4:6).

There are even times when saying nothing is the wisest response! Just because it is popular to hastily respond to enemies in the world, remember at times Jesus gave no answer.. He left it in God’s hands.. Let that be an example to you that feel the need to ‘get back’ or ‘prove your case’ before your accusers. Let the fruit of the Spirit be developed within your heart and overtake and guard your mouth and lips..!”
