DAY 44:

“Giving Honor where it is Due is Profitable to You! It is a Key and Currency that Unlocks and Releases Heaven in Your Life!

There is a certain amount of honor that is due to each person. Therefore, honor must be properly estimated if it is to be rendered accurately.

“Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine,” (1 Timothy 5:17).

How can you really give the right honor where it is due, if you never appraise the value and worth of who you are to give honor to? It is imperative for you to learn every area in the Bible that teaches about who to honor and how. “Elders” in the passage above can mean pastors as well. It is unprofitable for you not to give double honor to your elders and pastors.

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you,” (Hebrews 13:17).

When you do not honor those who have spiritual oversight in your life, you cause them grief, and you don’t profit from what God has deposited in their lives. The word “pastor” in the Greek is the same as shepherd. In Matthew 9, Jesus had compassion on the multitudes, because they fainted and were scattered abroad, like sheep without a shepherd. When sheep stray, the wolf gets them. Likewise, when you dishonor pastors and other ministry offices, God allows a covering to be removed from you. You become famished and faint in the Spirit.

One reason why you won’t be able to receive from the great men and women that God puts around you is because you devalue them through dishonor. You really can’t get anything from God when you despise and devalue everyone around you. I pray that you will begin to develop a heart of honor, and learn to correctly appraise and honor people, so that God will be able to increase you..!” ~David E. Taylor~
