DAY 3:
We must recognize the times we are living in and not compromise the guidelines and standards God requires of us.
It has almost become standard and highly encouraged to be rebellious and divisive, not only in the world, but increasingly so, in the Church. As the Bible says, we are in this world, but we are not “OF” it!!
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God,” (Romans 12:2).
It is of utmost importance to keep the standards of God even if that means you are opposed, persecuted, slandered, and ridiculed. Not many people today are found standing, when they face pressure and are up against all odds. However, that is not how God intended it to be.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it,” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
I believe that most people can’t stand, because although they profess Christianity, they do not have an intimate and personal relationship with the Lord. Therefore, they do not truly believe that He is with them and that He will always do what He says He will do. God is faithfulness in demonstration. He just requires that are faith, hope, and love be in Him too.
I love how Moses, Noah, Abraham, Joshua, David and others were in the Bible… No matter what was happening, they knew their God!! They believed in, trusted, and loved Him, and they knew that whatever He said, He would do!!
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest,” (Joshua 1:9).
Where are these kind of mighty men of valor and courage today? Who is willing to be found standing, even when everyone else sits down, turns their back on you, and thinks you are crazy?? I can tell you that I will be right where God called me to be, because I know that He will always be faithful and true..!! ~David E. Taylor~
